I thought I'd put up a list of some interesting links I've been hoarding regarding kink and kink memes.  I'll try to update this list as I cull through my bookmarks and as I find more posts.  Let me know of any cool kink-related sites/wiki pages/blog posts/discussions you've seen!

Kinks
eliade 's oft-cited List of Fan-fiction Kinks, Tropes, and Cliches.  This has been and continues to be one of the best and most comprehensive sources for fannish kinks.

Kink Memes

A useful database of kink memes that includes TV, movie, book, anime, and manga fandoms.  This database includes all of the memes included in evergrnterrace's list of kink memes.

st_xi_kink  and st_xi_kink_meme 
The Star Trek XI Kink Meme and its successor: the meme(s) that got me into kink memes and that I continue to use as my main source of inspiration and examples.  To my knowledge, it is one of the largest kink memes out there.

I don't actually want to list kink memes here, as that is what the database is for, but I'll quickly note that Phoenix Wright has been cited as the largest kink meme there is.  I haven't checked the numbers, so I don't know if that is still true.

A personal exploration of her own "bulletproof kink" but a good explanation of the concept and a good model for trying to delve into how some kinks are built on top of other, broader kinks/themes. Also see the comments.

Discusses judgment about "Other People's Kinks" and the wider definition of kink, i.e. "whatever you really love."

A discussion about the "I normally hate Kink X, but this fic was okay" comment by thingswithwings
Discusses how these comments can be interpreted as back-handed compliments, especially about kink as tied to an identity (not just an act).

A detailed discussion of BDSM concepts, including SSC (Safe, Sane, Consenual), RACK (Risk-Aware Consensual Kink) in Part I and negotiation in Part II.

conscientious kink? by solvent
Solvent addresses the issue of basing kink on real world events or oppressions, such as Nazi/Jew or native female/conquistador. Be sure to read the comments, in which thingswithwings and others discuss how identity positions should be considered in such contexts.

(and congrats on getting the thesis approved--although I too will miss out on the rhetoric bits, which were really fascinating given the recurring issue of "tone" on the internet.)

Yes...Actually I'm gonna be exploring that a bit for a class I'm taking, AND I have support this summer to try and publish, so I think I can actually make both of them happen.

And the connection to "tone" - yes! it's so true! I really need to look at this, cuz I know that there's PLENTY of meta about the tone question that I can wind in with this stuff.

Ohh, the Kink Bingo tags look interesting! And thanks for that link to incorporating lifestyle D/s into fic, that's something I've been thinking about a lot lately for a fic I'm writing. I worry about getting the BDSM right, though, so I may read some of the fics recced in that post for insight.

I just went through eliade's list again, and realized I've seen all of them except geishas, sex on horseback, navy/pirates & techno in SPN. And that's only because a)I have limited reading time and b)I don't read pirate!fic, as a rule. o_0.

Weee! Thanks! Just good policy to ask people when documents are floating around on the interent, y'know? And I'll definitely send a link/copy when it's done (and if the degree auditor doesn't have a heart attack when she sees the title.)
